ABOUT FISHER ISLAND CLUB HOTEL
& RESORTAccessible only by ferryboat or private yacht, our boutique property is comprised of a collection of just 15 graciously appointed historic and reimagined cottages, villas, and guesthouse suites that surround the now-iconic limestone and marble Vanderbilt Mansion mere steps from the beach, pool, spa, restaurants, and marina. Provide services to residents, club members, and hotel guests using the beach and pool facilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare room for dining by setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates and utensilsProtect establishment and members by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policiesAssist members select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questionsStay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviationsProcess orders to the kitchen by recording members' choices; identifying members' special dietary needs and special requestsKeep kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progressionServe orders by picking up and delivering members' choices from bar and kitchen; deliver accompaniments and condiments from service barsRespond to additional member requirements by inquiring of needs; observing dining processMaintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to member spills or other special needsProperly open and pour wine at the tablesideConclude dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant; inviting members to returnObtain revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; delivering bill and payment to host; returning change or credit card and signature slip to membersContribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededProvide welcoming phone greeting and following ordering proceduresConvey menu information over the phone to member/guest and give accurate estimate of delivery timePerform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisorAssist with special events as neededAdhere to grooming and appearance standards consistentlyPromptly address member/guest service issues and refer to management when necessaryAdditional responsibilities as assignedJob Qualifications /
Requirements Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
