Waitstaff/Hostess

Hostess - Baran Hookah Lounge Baran Hookah Lounge is looking for a professional, friendly, and polished Hostess to join our front-of-house team. The Hostess is the first and last impression of the guest experience and plays a key role in creating a welcoming, organized, and elevated atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

Greet every guest warmly and professionally upon arrival. Manage the host stand and maintain an organized front entrance. Seat guests according to table availability, reservations, and floor rotation. Use the reservation/waitlist system properly and communicate wait times clearly. Answer phone calls professionally and provide accurate information about hours, reservations, menu, hookah, and policies. Communicate with servers, captains, bartenders, hookah staff, and management to keep the floor running smoothly. Monitor guest flow and help avoid over-seating any section. Maintain awareness of VIP guests, large parties, reservations, and special requests. Assist with confirming reservations and managing guest notes when needed. Keep the entrance, host stand, menus, and waiting area clean and presentable at all times. Support the team with light service duties when needed, including menu presentation, guest direction, and helping maintain the guest experience. Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and calm presence during busy service.

Requirements:

Previous hostess, restaurant, lounge, or customer service experience preferred. Strong communication and people skills. Professional appearance and hospitality-focused attitude. Ability to stay calm, organized, and respectful under pressure. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to follow the posted schedule. Must be comfortable working evenings, weekends, holidays, and late-night shifts. Must be able to stand for extended periods. Experience with reservation systems such as OpenTable, Tock, Resy, Homebase, or similar platforms is a plus.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal Hostess is welcoming, organized, confident, and understands that hospitality starts at the door. This person should be able to control the flow of the room, communicate professionally with guests and staff, and help create a smooth, upscale experience from arrival to departure.

Compensation:

Pay is based on experience and will be discussed during the interview.

Pay:

$16.00 - $20.00 per hour
