  • Hotel Apply Description Scope of Position The Venetian Chop House Food Runner is primarily responsible for providing prompt, courteous and efficient food and beverages to the guest.
This candidate will also possess a limitless desire to attain the highest levels of quality and cleanliness in all areas of the Food and Beverage Operations. Position Requirements Professional demeanor appropriate for a fine dining restaurant environment. Previous food and beverage experience in a resort hotel environment is a plus. Outstanding and professional guest services skills. Knowledge of food and wine is an asset. Must be of minimum legal age to serve alcohol according to state law. A food handling certification must be completed within the first 90 days of employment. TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certification must be completed within the first 90 days of employment. Responsibilities Work closely with the kitchen and servers to organize food orders and ensure that they are prepared correctly and promptly. Deliver food orders to the correct tables quickly and efficiently, ensuring that guests receive their meals while they are hot and fresh. Knowledge of restaurant layout and location of all equipment and supplies. Set tables with silverware and glassware, restock server stations. Know the ingredients, preparation, and proper presentation of all menu items and specials. Observe and take note of dirty and occupied tables that need refreshment. Perform side work assigned by management. Communicate with guests, other employees, or departments to ensure guest needs are met. Check menus to ensure they are current, clean, plentiful, and wrinkle-free. Ensure place settings are appropriate, and each guest has the necessary items for the standard place setting. Maintain cleanliness and condition of the work area. Assist as needed to maintain standards of appearance, sanitation and service in all areas of the restaurant. Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management. Education High school diploma or GED. Skills and Abilities Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus. Ability to perform proper chemical handling, cleaning techniques and use of equipment/machinery. Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks. Physical Requirements Must be physically fit in order to lift, pull and push items up to 50 pounds. Also requires reaching overhead/standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
