Banquet Server Safety Harbor Resort & Spa - 3.0 Safety Harbor, FL Job Details 8 hours ago Qualifications Venue beverage service Customer communication English Food and beverage industry expertise Full Job Description We are looking for on-call (based on YOUR availability, 2-5 hour shifts) AM & PM Banquet Servers with at least 1 year of experience in Hotel Banquet serving. Must be able to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
JOB SUMMARY
This job consists of setting up, serving, and tearing down numerous catered functions to include breakfasts, lunches, dinners, receptions and coffee breaks.
POSITION PURPOSE
Service of Food and Beverage in a friendly, courteous and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. The server is responsible for all food set-ups, service and breakdowns. 2. The server is to be totally familiar with all menus and here to find all menu-related items. 3. The server is responsible for maintaining a clean work area at all times. 4. The server must have an understanding of the system used for picking up food, and banquet service. 5. The server must execute the service techniques set forth by management. Only these techniques are acceptable. 6. The server will always be a team player and help out others when needed. 7. The server will be completely familiar with all current conferences in-house, and the resort property itself. 8. The server may be asked to perform duties other than stated above and should be willing to do so with the same enthusiasm and positive attitude.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Must have the ability to communicate with a supervisor, and have an understanding of instructions, both written and verbal, given in the English language. Must be courteous and socially appropriate at all times. Must be able to reach, stoop, bend, knees and transcend a staircase. Must possess visual acuity level necessary to recognize and identify shapes and have accurate depth perception. Must possess capability to hear noise or conversation at normal levels. Must possess the physical stamina to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel. ? Perform general cleaning tasks, using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by your supervisor to adhere to health standards. ? Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested e.g., special guest requests. ? Must adhere to all State, Federal, and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to insure all laws are being followed.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
? Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages. ? Ability to read, sufficient to understand menus and special promotions, speak and write the English language to communicate with the guest, and take orders. ? Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items. ? Ability to transport large awkward trays weighing up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout shift.
