Non-Exempt Position Summary:
The Restaurant Runner & Event Setup Attendant is responsible for supporting restaurant and banquet operations by setting up and breaking down event spaces, assisting with food and beverage preparation, and ensuring all guests enjoy a seamless dining and event experience. This position combines hands-on setup duties with guest service responsibilities, requiring attention to detail, teamwork, and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Setup & Breakdown:
Set up tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and other items as directed by the event planner or coordinator. Arrange buffet tables, serving stations, and decorations according to event specifications. Ensure all event spaces are clean, organized, and ready for guest arrival. Assist with post-event teardown, cleaning tables and chairs, and returning equipment and supplies to proper storage.
Food Runner:
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver food orders from the kitchen to guests quickly and efficiently. Ensure that each dish is presented properly and matches the order ticket before leaving the kitchen. Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to ensure accuracy and timing of orders. Assist servers with clearing and resetting tables between guests. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the expo line and service stations. Refill water glasses, bring condiments, and assist with guest requests as needed. Support kitchen staff by restocking plates, utensils, and other supplies during service. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures. Uphold restaurant standards for hospitality, cleanliness, and teamwork.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in event setup, banquet service, or restaurant operations preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow setup diagrams or event orders. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, physically active environment. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical & Working Conditions:
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Work is performed indoors and occasionally outdoors depending on event location. Exposure to various noise levels and temperature conditions typical of banquet and restaurant environments.
