Job Description

Description:
The Server EL/IL provides meal service to Enriched Living and Inspired Living residents with dignity, patience, accuracy and hospitality while supporting documented preferences, dietary needs and a clean, safe dining environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare dining room and service areas before meals, including table settings, beverages, supplies, menus and sanitation needs. Greet residents warmly and provide respectful, patient and individualized service. Follow documented resident preferences, allergies, diet textures, adaptive needs and service instructions as communicated by leadership. Serve meals accurately and timely while monitoring presentation, temperature, quality and resident satisfaction. Communicate clearly with culinary, Wellness and dining leadership regarding resident requests, concerns or changes in dining behavior. Assist residents as appropriate and within role expectations, maintaining dignity, privacy and professional boundaries. Clear, reset and clean tables, service stations and dining areas according to sanitation standards. Follow handwashing, food safety, allergen awareness, infection control, resident rights and confidentiality requirements at all times. Use TOAST or applicable resident dining systems accurately when assigned. Attend pre-shifts, trainings, in-services and meetings as assigned. Support special events, family meals, holiday dining and resident programming as needed.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years of age unless otherwise permitted by law and company policy. Previous serving, hospitality or senior living experience preferred. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English effectively. Patience, compassion and positive attitude toward older adults and residents with cognitive or physical needs. Food Handler certification preferred or required by local regulation. Ability to follow directions, communicate concerns and work effectively as part of a team. Ability to work flexible schedules including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to walk, sit, stand, reach, bend and stoop frequently. Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs. as business needs require. Must be able to work flexible schedules, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays as business needs dictate.
