Hourly, Non-Exempt Position Summary Servers at Scramblers are central to delivering an outstanding breakfast and lunch dining experience. A Scramblers Server embodies four roles in one: salesperson, team member, public relations representative, and quality control supervisor. Servers must provide warm hospitality, anticipate guest needs, maintain a clean and organized environment, and ensure that every guest leaves delighted and eager to return. Key Responsibilities1. Sales & Guest Engagement Act as a knowledgeable salesperson, guiding guests through the menu and recommending items to enhance their meal. Practice suggestive selling and upselling techniques to increase guest satisfaction and check averages. Maintain full knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and specialty offerings. Build rapport with guests by being friendly, attentive, and engaging without sacrificing service efficiency. 2. Guest Service & Hospitality Administer Scramblers' Ten Steps of Service , ensuring timely greeting, beverage service, order accuracy, table maintenance, check handling, and guest satisfaction checks. Deliver prompt, efficient, and courteous service with a consistently positive attitude. Handle guest concerns professionally by listening, acknowledging, apologizing when appropriate, and notifying management. Treat all guests—including children, elderly guests, and guests with disabilities—with kindness, respect, and patience. 3. Teamwork & Collaboration Work cooperatively with hosts, bussers, food runners, and kitchen staff to maintain smooth restaurant operations. Assist teammates by running food, bussing tables, stocking items, and helping wherever needed. Follow a fair and organized seating system and contribute to a clean and safe workplace. Support training efforts for new servers and team members when requested. 4. Quality Control Ensure all food served is hot, fresh, and prepared according to Scramblers standards before delivering to guests. Verify orders for accuracy and presentation prior to leaving the kitchen. Maintain clean tables, floors, chairs, and service areas throughout the shift. Follow all sanitation and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and equipment maintenance. 5. Operational Duties Complete daily, weekly, and periodic side work, including stocking supplies, cleaning service areas, sanitizing equipment, and maintaining restrooms. Perform opening and closing responsibilities as assigned. Correctly handle payments, credit card slips, coupons, and daily shift reconciliation procedures. Participate in required tip-out processes according to company policy and applicable laws. Qualifications & Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills. High level of professionalism, hospitality, and personal presentation. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Comfort using point-of-sale (POS) systems (training provided). Attention to detail, especially regarding order accuracy and cleanliness. Ability to follow procedures, training standards, and safety protocols. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 lbs (e.g., trays, coffee urns). Ability to bend, reach, and perform cleaning duties. Training Requirements All servers must successfully complete Scramblers' structured training program, which includes: Demonstration of the Ten Steps of Service Full menu and product knowledge Proficiency in POS operation Understanding of sanitation and safety procedures Successful evaluation by the trainer and management team Completion of training is required before independently serving guests.
