Job Description

Job Summary The Banquet Server is responsible for providing exceptional service to members and guests during Club events, weddings, golf outings, and private functions. This position ensures the highest standards of hospitality are maintained throughout setup, service, and breakdown. The Banquet Server works closely with the Director of Events, Banquet Management, and the Food & Beverage team to deliver seamless, polished, and professional event experiences that reflect the Club's standards of excellence. Essential Functions Provide courteous and efficient food and beverage service during all banquet and private events. Prepare tables and event spaces according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), ensuring all linens, silverware, and glassware are properly placed. Serve plated meals, buffets, and beverages in a timely and professional manner following Club standards. Refill water, coffee, and beverage service throughout events. Monitor guest needs and respond promptly to member and guest requests. Collaborate with the banquet team to ensure smooth service transitions and attention to detail throughout the event. Assist with event setup and breakdown, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and service stations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas, stations, and back-of-house spaces. Handle all food and beverage items in accordance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Assist in polishing and restocking silverware, china, and glassware before and after events. Communicate clearly and courteously with other staff and management to ensure successful event execution. Follow all opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned. Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude while working around members and guests. Cell phone use is not permitted in the presence of members or while on duty. Assist in other assignments not included in Duties & Responsibilities as directed by management to support overall Club operations. Qualifications Prior banquet or fine dining service experience preferred; private club experience a plus. Strong knowledge of proper service techniques and dining etiquette. Excellent communication, multitasking, and teamwork skills. Professional and polished appearance with a strong focus on member service. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events. BASSET and Food Handler certifications required (Club may provide training if needed). Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours). Ability to lift and carry trays, chairs, and equipment up to 40 lbs. Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions required. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors during event setup and service. Uniform & Appearance Standards Uniform provided by the Club must be clean and pressed at all times. Shoes must be closed-toe, slip-resistant, and in good repair. Personal appearance must reflect the professionalism and conservative standards of the Club.
