Job Description
Position Summary The Server / Host is responsible for creating a welcoming, organized, and efficient guest experience from the moment guests enter the restaurant until they leave. This position combines front door hospitality, table service, phone communication, and teamwork to help maintain the fast-paced and family-oriented atmosphere of Gutierrez Mexican Restaurant. This role is ideal for someone who is energetic, dependable, organized, and enjoys interacting with people. Core ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience Greet every guest warmly and professionally Manage wait lists and seating flow Escort guests to tables and provide menus Maintain a clean and welcoming front entrance and dining room Answer guest questions regarding menu items, specials, and restaurant policies Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when needed Table Service Take food and beverage orders accurately Enter orders into POS system efficiently Deliver food and drinks promptly Monitor tables throughout service for refills and guest needs Process payments and handle cash/card transactions responsibly Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned sections Phone & To-Go Orders Answer phones professionally and courteously Take accurate carryout orders Package and verify to-go orders before guest pickup Communicate clearly with kitchen staff regarding modifications and timing Team Responsibilities Assist coworkers during busy periods Help with side work, stocking, cleaning, and opening/closing duties Maintain positive communication with kitchen and front-of-house staff Uphold company standards for hospitality, cleanliness, and professionalism Qualifications Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required Strong communication and multitasking skills Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Ability to stay calm and professional in fast-paced environments Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally Preferred Traits Friendly and outgoing personality Strong sense of urgency Attention to detail Ability to anticipate guest needs Comfortable handling multiple responsibilities at once Schedule Expectations Evening and weekend availability preferred Flexible scheduling based on business needs Holidays and special event availability may be required Work Environment Gutierrez Mexican Restaurant is a fast-paced, high-energy restaurant focused on hospitality, teamwork, consistency, and community.
