Server

The Cormorant is a small diner located outside downtown Newburyport. We offer lunch and dinner Wednesdays thru Saturday 11am to 8pm and a Sunday Brunch 10am to 3pm. We are looking for two servers, one full time and one part time. Qualified applicants will have serving experience, a positive upbeat attitude , able to work quickly under pressure and work well with others.

• Responsibilities
• Greet and seat guests in a friendly and courteous manner
• Present menus to customers and answer questions about menu items
• Take food and beverage orders accurately
• Relay orders to the kitchen staff and ensure all items are served promptly
• Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction with each food course and beverages
• Clear tables efficiently and reset them for the next guests
• Process payments accurately using POS systems
• Maintain cleanliness in the dining area and assist with bussing tables as needed
• Qualifications
• Experience with POS systems like

TOAST POS

is preferred

• Knowledge of basic math for order taking and bill processing
• Understanding of food safety protocols and work upholding our standards of cleanliness.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
