Job Description

Besser Senior Living Community is looking for part-time or full-time Cook/Servers. The Cook/Server is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving a wide variety of food for residents and visitors. The Cook/Server prepares food according to recipes and plans cooking schedules to meet mealtime schedules. In addition, The Cook/Server performs a variety of food service functions in maintaining clean and sanitary conditions of food service areas, facilities and equipment. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities 1. Handles and prepares food in accordance with federal, state and local sanitary regulations. 2. Prepares and serves nutritionally appropriate and appetizing meals, including modified consistency and therapeutic diets, as prescribed by the resident's physician. 3. Meets required meal schedules. 4. Takes accurate measures to avoid food waste, including participating in production meetings with supervisor and use of production sheets. 5 . Performs daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures. 6. Properly cares for dietary equipment. 7. Follows menus and special diet instructions 8. Takes food temperatures per policy and ensures food items are prepared, cooled and stored in adherence to local, state and federal guidelines. 9. Communicates freely with supervisors. 10. Cooperates with other dietary department staff. 11. Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights. 12. Performs other duties as requested Other Duties 1. May be required to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, additional hours and in different positions as the community needs require. 2. Must practice good personal hygiene and follow the dress code requirements. Qualifications
