Full-Time Job Summary:
The Server at Thomas Entertainment is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while delivering food and beverages to guests in a timely, efficient, and friendly manner. This role involves interacting with families, groups, and individuals of all ages, ensuring a positive and memorable experience for every guest. The Server plays a vital role in maintaining a fun and welcoming environment, all while promoting our menu offerings and upholding high standards of service.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Greet guests with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor as they arrive and guide them to their table. Provide guests with information about the menu, daily specials, and promotions in a friendly and engaging manner. Answer any questions guests may have about food, beverages, and dietary restrictions. Ensure guests are comfortable, making them feel welcome and valued throughout their visit. Anticipate guests' needs, ensuring they have everything they need, including refills, condiments, and napkins, without having to ask. Respond to customer complaints or issues promptly, professionally, and escalate to management when necessary.
Order Taking & Service:
Accurately take food and drink orders from guests and input them into the POS system. Suggestively sell menu items to increase sales (e.g., upselling appetizers, desserts, drinks). Serve food and beverages in a timely, efficient manner while ensuring all orders are correct and presented well. Check in with guests after their meals to ensure satisfaction and offer additional items or services as needed. Provide detailed information about our entertainment offerings, encouraging guests to engage with activities such as games, bowling, or mini-golf.
Food & Beverage Knowledge:
Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and any potential allergens. Know and understand the available drink and cocktail menu and be able to offer recommendations. Assist guests with understanding menu options, including accommodating special requests or dietary restrictions.
Team Collaboration:
Work together with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure a smooth and efficient operation. Communicate with the kitchen to ensure all orders are prepared correctly and on time. Assist other team members when necessary, such as helping clear tables or refilling drinks during busy shifts.
Cash Handling & Payment Processing:
Accurately handle cash, credit card, and mobile payment transactions. Provide correct change and receipts to guests. Close out checks promptly, ensuring that any additional charges (e.g., tips, specials) are applied appropriately.
Cleaning & Maintenance:
Ensure that tables are cleaned and reset between guests. Keep the dining area neat and organized, ensuring that condiments, utensils, and supplies are replenished as needed. Help maintain cleanliness throughout the front-of-house area, including restrooms, seating areas, and floors.
Promote Entertainment & Events:
Help promote special events, packages, and promotions, such as birthday parties, group events, and seasonal offers. Encourage guests to participate in activities available at the family entertainment center, such as arcade games, axe throwing, movies.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous experience as a server or in customer service is preferred but not required. Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment is a plus.
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage guests and build rapport. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Strong multitasking skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Basic math skills for handling transactions and calculating tips. Ability to work as part of a team and provide support to fellow staff members.
Personal Attributes:
Friendly, positive, and approachable personality, with a strong desire to create great guest experiences. Strong attention to detail, ensuring orders are accurate and delivered promptly. Ability to stay calm and professional during busy shifts or when dealing with challenging situations. A passion for food, beverage, and customer service.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move around the restaurant or entertainment center for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry trays of food and drinks (up to 25 lbs). Ability to bend, squat, and reach as needed to serve guests and clean tables.
