Live and work on beautiful Lake Superior. Cascade Lodge is looking for a positive and hardworking person to join our team.

Casual and fast-paced service in a landmark, roadhouse type restaurant. Willing to train those who have prior customer facing experience, such as baristas, busses, etc. Servers pull tips in this position, counter service restaurant, tips average between $100-$150 per shift and are paid out in cash at the end of every shift. Guests make orders at the counter, then servers bring their beverages and food to their table. This position can be a mix of AM and PM shifts. Please check out our Google reviews and our online menu example. Live music on weekends. Must be comfortable being trained on working the register, running food/expoing, and bartending. We offer affordable shared housing at $14 per day, which also includes one meal per day. Housing is shared (kitchen, bathrooms, laundry room), however private rooms may be available.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Servers at Cascade Restaurant & Pub work as a collaborative team to provide warm, efficient, and attentive service in a fast-paced lodge restaurant and pub setting. Each shift typically includes two to four servers who rotate between three primary roles: taking orders, tending bar, and running food. All servers are expected to perform each role confidently and seamlessly, ensuring an exceptional guest experience through teamwork, professionalism, and hospitality. Key Responsibilities Greet guests promptly, courteously, and with a positive attitude. Present menus, explain our hybrid service style (counter ordering with table service), answer questions, and make recommendations on food, beverages, and daily specials.
Rotate between shift roles:
Order-taking:
Accurately record food and beverage orders, enter them into the POS system, handle guest payments, and check in regularly for satisfaction.
Bartending:
Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages while following responsible alcohol service procedures. Check in regularly with guests to ensure satisfaction.
Food running:
Prepare sides, condiments, desserts, and garnishes; deliver food and drinks to tables promptly and accurately, check in regularly for satisfaction. Collaborate closely with fellow servers, kitchen staff, and bartenders to maintain smooth team operations. Balance cash/credit transactions at the end of shifts and perform end of day reporting. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary dining and service area, including bussing, dishwashing assistance, and table resets. Perform opening, side work, and closing duties as assigned. Represent Cascade Lodge & Restaurant's commitment to teamwork, guest satisfaction, and authentic North Shore hospitality. Qualifications Prior serving experience preferred, but not required; bartending or food-running experience a plus. Strong customer service, communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced setting. Ability to work as a part of the team. Must be at least 18 years old to serve alcoholic beverages. Basic math skills for handling payments and change. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and safely carry trays, plates, and beverages. Comfortable working in a dynamic, high-volume environment. Other Own vehicle makes it more fun to explore the area and get around, but it is not required. Driver's license is required.
