SCHEDULE
We operate on two fixed shift patterns: Monday, Tuesday, Friday evenings + Saturday Wednesday, Thursday, Friday evenings + Saturday You must be available for one of these schedules. Saturday is required every week and may be scheduled as either a split shift or an evening shift. This schedule is not flexible. This position requires you to be 18 or older due to alcohol service. About the Role Basil & Bourbon is a small, independently owned dinner house in downtown Bolivar. Our goal is simple — to create a space where people feel welcomed, taken care of, and connected through great food and genuine hospitality. The dining room here is paced and intentional, even on busy nights. We follow clear steps of service — not because we're rigid, but because consistency is how guests feel genuinely taken care of every time they walk through the door. Your job here isn't to take orders. It's to guide the experience — through awareness, timing, and genuine hospitality. To notice what others might overlook. To anticipate what a table needs before they need it. To make someone's night feel personal, not just pleasant.How we work:
Clear steps of service, followed with consistency every shift Direct, respectful communication between FOH and BOH Seating with awareness — we protect the kitchen's rhythm Shared responsibility across the room — food running, side work, and closing belong to everyone A pooled tip structure that reflects whole-house service What this takes: Genuine curiosity about guests — why are they here tonight? The ability to read a table and adjust your approach without losing your steps Calm, steady communication when the room gets busy A team-first mindset — someone who fills in gaps without being asked Comfort working within structure — our systems exist for a reason, and we need someone who respects that Prior serving experience is welcome but not required. We train with intention and take that process seriously. What we can't train is the desire to take care of people.Pay:
