Job Description
This is a tipped position which typically adds and additional $4-6(potentially more) per hour to base pay. White Duck Taco Shop is opening a new location in South End, Charlotte towards the end of July. We are hiring all positions as we prepare to open. Overview Join our dynamic team as a Cashier/Food Runner, where your energy and enthusiasm will drive exceptional customer experiences! In this vibrant role, you'll be the friendly face greeting guests, efficiently handling retail sales transactions, and ensuring food orders are delivered promptly and accurately. Your culinary experience and food safety knowledge will help maintain high standards of sanitation and food handling. If you thrive in fast-paced environments and love engaging with people, this position offers a lively opportunity to grow within the food service industry while making every guest's visit memorable. Duties Greet customers with enthusiasm, take their orders accurately, and process sales using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS. Handle cash transactions confidently, providing correct change and maintaining accurate cash handling records. Serve food promptly from the kitchen to tables or designated areas, ensuring proper food safety and sanitation standards are upheld. Assist in food preparation tasks when needed, supporting kitchen staff to ensure timely service. Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities. Clear tables, bus tables efficiently, and maintain cleanliness in dining and serving areas. Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent customer service in a quick service or fast-food setting. Requirements Previous experience in food service, quick service restaurants, or retail sales transactions is highly preferred. Knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; retail math skills are a plus. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Ability to handle food safely, including proper food handling and sanitation practices. Basic math skills for cash handling and retail transactions. Experience with food preparation, bussing, or kitchen operations is advantageous. Must be able to stand for extended periods, work efficiently under pressure, and manage time effectively.
