30PM-10:30PM- We are hiring for our Server Team!
SEASONAL POSITION
only. Opportunities to work special events like Weddings and Rehearsal Dinners are available in the off-season (April and October). Summer Salt is a BYOB farm-to-table dinner restaurant. We are reservation-only and serve a four-course prix-fixe tasting menu ($95/person) designed to showcase Cape May County land and sea. We are technically "fine dining" but our ambiance and service-style is friendly, not stuffy. We are refined, but not pretentious. The menu changes every 3-4 weeks and servers are expected to have an impeccable understanding of the dishes, ingredients, and sourcing. Ingredients are sourced daily from farms and fishers; and our guests are welcomed warmly like friends and family. A typical shift is 4:30pm-10:30pm. On somedays you may be asked to stay later until 11:00pm or 11:30pm. Our schedule is created in advance, typically for the entire season, or at least on a monthly basis. We offer Part-Time positions (3-4 shifts per week) or Full-Time positions (5-6 shifts per week). Time-off is available and we can offer a consistent, reoccurring schedule or a rotating, flexible schedule- whichever you prefer. During peak-times likes MDW and LDW, we may ask for extra shifts and hours. We offer a consistent shift pay of $200
- 300 per shift.
INCLUDES TIPS.
Your shift pay will be decided based on your experience level, skill level, and commitment level. Once your shift pay is decided, you will earn that set amount each shift, regardless of how many tables you serve or how many tips you receive. We offer an end-of-season bonus for team members that meet our attendance policy. We offer raises for team members that return each season.DUTIES:
- Give each guest top-rated service with quality knowledge, understanding and presence. Provide our guests with a memorable and meaningful experience
- Act in a polite, patient, courteous and professional manner
- Provide accurate and detailed descriptions of the menu including ingredients, sourcing and flavors
- Help share and communicate Summer Salt's mission of environmental sustainability, possess an understanding of our farm-to-table sourcing and values.
- Address customer questions and concerns, including food allergies / special requests
- Enter orders into the computer system
- Serve food and drinks
- Manage bills and payments
- Bus and clean tables, polish silverware and glasses
- Clean the restaurant including sweeping and mopping.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience as a server or in the hospitality industry preferred but not required
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally
- Must be a self-motivator and motivator of others.
- Must work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
- Must have or quickly acquire a good knowledge of food, food preparation, sourcing and allergies (including Gluten Free, Shellfish Free, Vegan, Vegetarian, Dairy Free).
- Must be able to relate to all levels of guests and management.
- Must be able to consistently delight and satisfy our guests.
