About Haute Feast at Barnegat Oyster Collective Haute Feast at Barnegat Oyster Collective is a waterfront, chef-driven, farm-to-table dining experience located at the headquarters of a working oyster farm on Barnegat Bay in Barnegat, NJ. Our menus change weekly, driven entirely by what our local farmers and fishermen are harvesting. Every dish is sourced with intention, and every ingredient has a story. We operate Memorial Day weekend through end of September. We move fast, hold ourselves to a high standard, and take genuine pride in the experience we create for our guests. We're looking for people who feel the same way. The Role The Server at Haute Feast is a tableside host and guide — warm, attentive, and knowledgeable. You are the guest's primary point of contact from the moment they're seated through the end of their experience. You'll learn the story behind every oyster on our daily rotating raw bar, every dish on our weekly changing menu, and every farm partner we source from — then use that knowledge to create genuine connections with guests and guide them toward a memorable meal. This is a hospitality and sales role. The difference between a good server and a great one here is knowledge — and what you do with it. Our guests are curious, generous, and eager to explore. They will follow your lead. Be worth following. Shifts are available Thursday through Monday, including holidays, Memorial Day weekend through end of September. What You'll Do Attend daily pre-shift meetings and study the weekly cheat sheet before every service Welcome and guide guests through a rotating, locally sourced menu in a tapas-style dining format Explain our daily oyster list — organized saltiest to sweetest — with confidence and genuine enthusiasm Communicate the story behind our farm partners, sourcing philosophy, and daily beef feature Use menu knowledge to make genuine, guided upsell suggestions — additional rounds, pairings, and featured items Input orders accurately via handheld POS system; coordinate with raw bar and kitchen Run oyster platters with provenance context when appropriate Recognize and serve Mother Shucker Club members with warmth and care Pre-buss tables, manage your section, and support your teammates throughout service Handle guest questions, feedback, and special needs with professionalism and warmth Handle check presentation and payment independently What We're Looking For Some restaurant experience required — upscale or hospitality-driven environments preferred More important than experience: a genuine commitment to learning and an open, moldable mindset Strong people skills and the confidence to guide a guest through a conversation, not just take an order Curiosity about food, local sourcing, and the story behind what we serve Calm, professional presence under pressure Shifts available Thursday through Monday, including holidays, Memorial Day weekend through end of September. Compensation Competitive hourly rate + tip pool share. Average tip income runs 22% of guest check totals, distributed through a house tip pool. Servers consistently earn well above their hourly rate — this is among the highest earning potential positions on the team. Rate increases with performance and experience.
