Position Summary The Server is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences at Alibi Ale Works. Servers are the face of our restaurant, greeting guests with genuine enthusiasm, guiding them through our food and beverage offerings, and delivering attentive, efficient service. The ideal candidate is friendly, knowledgeable, organized, and passionate about providing outstanding customer service while working as part of a collaborative team. Duties & Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Represent Alibi Ale Works as a brand ambassador at all times. Welcome every guest with a warm, friendly attitude and treat everyone like a regular. Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items, craft beer, cocktails, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages (training provided). Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system. Deliver food and beverages promptly while ensuring accuracy and presentation standards. Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience and respond promptly to requests or concerns. Maintain detailed knowledge of daily specials, seasonal offerings, menu changes, and allergens. Promote and upsell food, beverages, desserts, merchandise, and special events when appropriate. Issue guest checks, process payments accurately, and balance cash and credit transactions. Complete opening, running side work, and closing duties according to company SOPs. Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked service stations throughout each shift. Assist with resetting tables and maintaining cleanliness throughout the dining room and patio. Work closely with bartenders, hosts, kitchen staff, food runners, and management to provide seamless service. Follow all food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and health department regulations. Help minimize waste and protect company assets by following proper portioning, handling, and service procedures. Maintain a positive, professional attitude while working efficiently during busy service periods. QualificationsRequired Must be at least 21 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent. Previous restaurant serving or hospitality experience preferred. Experience using a POS system and handling cash transactions. Strong communication and guest service skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team. Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Knowledge of responsible alcohol service and food safety regulations. Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences. Preferred Craft beer knowledge or a willingness to learn. Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant, brewery, or taproom. Alcohol awareness certification (TAM, ServSafe Alcohol, or equivalent). Food Handler Certification. Cicerone certification or other beverage industry certifications are a plus. Self-motivated with a desire to continually learn about food, beer, and hospitality. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy restaurant environment. Noise levels may range from moderate to loud. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently lift and carry trays, food, beverages, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, reach, stoop, twist, and carry multiple items safely. Must maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times. Schedule may include mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on business needs. Employment Requirements The selected candidate will be required to: Successfully pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check. Obtain and maintain all required Alcohol Server and Food Handler certifications. Be at least 21 years of age. Comply with all Alibi Ale Works policies, procedures, and standards of service.
