Moving Full Job Description General Description:
The On-Call Banquet Server is responsible for providing efficient and friendly food and beverage service for all catered events, ensuring a positive guest experience.
Essential Functions:
Assist with event preparation to include setup and breakdown of the banquet area, including moving tables, chairs, table settings, buffet stations, arranging tables and chairs, and other event items as needed. Read and understand the banquet event order and follow the setup instructions. Ensure buffet stations are set properly to include beverages, condiments, china, glass, and silverware. Assist with organizing tray jacks, stands, and trays for plated service as needed. Ensure buffet is set up and ready for service at the appropriate time to ensure seamless service. Communicate efficiently and effectively with staff and customers. Refill food and beverage stations as needed. Collaborate with event and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth operation. Ensure plated meals are set to standard. Maintain the cleanliness and condition of the event space and stations at all times, following all set-up guidelines. Dispose of empty boxes used during the course of the event. Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. Adhere to set standards, procedures, department rules, and sanitation requirements. Perform other duties as requested during the event.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must have open availability to include nights, weekends, and holidays . Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
Additional qualifications include:
Ability to carry a minimum of 6 plates on a tray for plated meals. Ability to move, lift, and arrange equipment for off-site catered events. Ability to manage multiple tasks. Strong guest service skills. Ability to function in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of food quality standards. Must be available and present for scheduled shifts. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. frequently and stand for a full shift.
Experience and Education Substitutions:
An equivalent combination of formal education and appropriate related experience may be considered
Licensing and Certification:
Alcohol Awareness Card from an approved State of Nevada Alcohol Educational Awareness Training provider Food Service Sanitation Certification or equivalent may be required before the first day of work
Note:
Any degree, diploma, high school equivalent, or course hours required to meet minimum qualifications must be obtained from an accredited educational institution.
