Job Description Job Title:
Food Server Summary, Role Food servers are responsible for taking orders from restaurant patrons and delivering their food to them. Their duties include explaining the menu to their customers, communicating with kitchen staff and balancing dishes as they bring them to the appropriate table. Checking on customers through their meal to offer refills, condiments, and anything else they require for a satisfying experience.
Essential Responsibilities:
Review and familiarize themselves with the menu and daily specials Greeting and seating guests Take customer orders accurately and relay it to the kitchen using the ordering system Serve meals and beverages promptly and professionally Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to refill drinks and correct any problems Clear and clean tables quickly after dinners have finished Handle customer payments and give change Help with setting tables, restocking service areas, and preparing for the next shift Address customers' complaints or concerns, providing a solution or escalating the issue to a manager if necessary Uphold all safety, sanitation, and alcohol beverage control policies Requirements (KSA's) Excellent customer service, including patience and a friendly demeanor Exceptional organization and time management Effective written and verbal communication skills Great active listening skills Ability and willingness to collaborate Knowledge of food service regulations and proper food handling procedures Capability to learn quickly and memorize menu details Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Willing to work flexible work schedules that include nights and weekends Education, certificates: High school diploma or equivalent Physical requirements: Standing and walking for long periods at a time, up to 8 hours. Bending, stooping, reaching, lifting up to 20 lbs.
