Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Waitstaff member to join our team in providing exceptional dining experiences within a healthcare or assisted living environment. This role involves delivering high-quality food service, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining a clean and safe dining area. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and experience in food handling and service. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of residents and guests while fostering a welcoming atmosphere. Responsibilities Serve meals and beverages efficiently and courteously to residents, patients, or guests, ensuring their dietary preferences and restrictions are respected. Assist with food preparation, plating, and presentation in accordance with safety and sanitation standards. Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, including clearing tables, bussing dishes, and sanitizing surfaces regularly. Support the dietary department by helping with meal setup, portioning, and replenishing supplies as needed. Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and prevent contamination. Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions or concerns promptly and professionally. Assist with sanitation practices such as cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and storage areas to uphold health regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff and dietary aides to ensure timely delivery of meals and smooth service flow. Qualifications Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable. Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation protocols, and proper food handling techniques. Experience in food production, meal preparation, or culinary activities is preferred. Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy service periods. Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with residents, patients, staff, and visitors. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining attention to detail. Familiarity with serving techniques such as bussing tables, cleaning dining areas, and supporting dietary needs. Basic understanding of dietetics or dietary department operations is a plus.
