SEASONAL STATUS GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Under the direction of the Assistant General Manager of Food & Beverage, the Dining Server provides table service to restaurant patrons by taking orders for food and beverages, delivering orders to the table, and ensuring that patrons have a pleasant dining experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Complete opening prep work in the dining area before the restaurant opens. 2. Greet customers as they are seated at the table; ensure that the table is clean and that utensils, napkins, and other needs have been provided. 3. Distribute menus and present the daily specials. 4. Take cocktail and menu orders and answer any relative questions regarding the menu. 5. Deliver food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to customers. 6. Ensure that food is prepared correctly and to customers' satisfaction; return incorrect or improperly cooked orders to the kitchen. 7. Collect plates and clear the table as customers finish their meals. 8. Prepare customers checks and collect payments. 9. Ensure customers are served in accordance with state and local laws and WROTBC's regulations regarding the service of alcohol, including ensuring customers are of legal drinking age by checking photo IDs and using proper judgment and, when necessary, refusing service to patrons who are intoxicated or disruptive. 10. Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, wines, beers and non-alcoholic selections available. 11. Maintain an understanding of promotions within the facility. 12. Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND TRAINING
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Knowledge of restaurant functions and duties that are required. Ability to learn point of sale software used by bars and restaurants.
ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Must pass the necessary restaurant training and menu/bar test. Must be approved for and maintain a valid Video Lottery Gaming Service Employee license issued by the New York State Gaming Commission.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is an active role with prolonged periods standing and serving food. This position includes tasks that may require the ability to lift, balance, carry or move trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds. Effective communication is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be available to work nights, weekends, and on holidays.
