Job Description

Grounded Table is a wine country restaurant and pub sharing food with heart in historic downtown McMinnville, Oregon. The light-filled space is warm and approachable, welcoming locals and tourists for casual meals and special celebrations. The restaurant menus draw inspiration from the seasons and thoughtfully sourced ingredients, many of which are from our Tabula Rasa Farms, and other provisioners using sustainable practices like regenerative farming and small-batch craft. Loving intention is at the heart of the dining experience, always celebrating the work of exceptional purveyors in the Willamette Valley and beyond. Job Summary:
Fine wine. Delicious food. Bring beautiful spaces to life and watch your attention to detail delight guests. You are responsible for creating unmatched experiences by engaging guests, navigating menu offerings, capitalizing on upselling opportunities, and delivering an unrivaled service experience. You warmly welcome repeat guests and VIPs with a familiarity made possible through OpenTable profiles, making every visit feel personal and memorable. You are vital to creating a successful dining experience for each guest.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Guide our guests throughout their dining experience by providing specific suggestions, daily specials, and house-made dessert selections.

Takes orders and serves food and beverage items to guests in accordance with established standards.

Enters orders into computerized Point of Sale system and communicates any special requests to the culinary team.

Ensures attractive, consistent presentation of food and beverages. Ensures that all food and beverage items are served at the correct temperature.

Maintain a clean and organized section, including setting up and breaking down tables, clearing and marking tables for next courses, and readying the restaurant for the next shift.

Maintains current knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including menu changes and sold-out items.

Working knowledge of food preparation methods, cooking techniques, and culinary terminologyProcesses guest payments, using proper accounting and cash handling procedures.

Collaborate with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless service.

Uphold the high standards of Humble Spirit for service quality and guest satisfaction.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication skills and positive attitude.

Attention to detail. Ability to perform essential functions on the computerized Point of Sale system.

Working knowledge of dining and beverage service procedures.

Working knowledge of applicable liquor laws and regulations.

Be a team player. Be flexible with duties and responsibilities.

Humility, patience, and resilience.
Experience and Requirements:
2 years of previous experience as server in a fine dining restaurant environment. We re looking for candidates who have honed their skills in the art of table service. Your ability to provide attentive, knowledgeable, and warm service is essential.

Fine dining experience and/or WSET or CMS certification preferred.

Preferred knowledge of wine and cocktail terminology, techniques, and service.

Necessary State Food Handler s License(s) and Liquor Serving Permit(s)
