$6/hr + tips Job Summary We are looking for hustle-first individuals to join the Opus team as Back Waiters in an upscale, elevated dining environment. The Back Waiter plays a critical support role in delivering seamless, polished service—working closely with Servers, Sommeliers, and Management to ensure the dining room operates with efficiency and attention to detail at all times. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about hospitality and eager to learn and grow within a refined service environment. Key Responsibilities Support servers throughout service by clearing courses, resetting covers, and maintaining immaculate table presentation between each course. Provide water, bread, and any additional table amenities promptly and attentively. Assist with the flow and pacing of the dining room by anticipating needs and responding quickly to cues from servers and management. Work in close coordination with Servers, Sommeliers, Food Runners, and the kitchen team to ensure smooth, uninterrupted service. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, service stations, and bussing areas throughout the shift. Reset tables efficiently between covers, ensuring all settings meet Opus's presentation standards. Assist with pre-shift setup and post-shift breakdown, including linens, glassware, flatware, and station stocking. Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members and management throughout service. Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and responsible service standards. Carry yourself with professionalism and a guest-first attitude in all areas of the dining room. Qualifications & Experience 1-2 years of experience in a restaurant setting; upscale or fine dining experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with formal dining room standards, table etiquette, and service flow. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Genuine interest in hospitality and a desire to grow within a professional service environment. Food handler certification (ServSafe or equivalent) preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire. Required Skills & Attributes Hustle-first mentality—energetic, proactive, and always a step ahead during service. Strong attention to detail in table maintenance, presentation, and cleanliness. Team-oriented with a collaborative, supportive approach to every shift. Clear and respectful communicator with FOH and BOH teams alike. Ability to stay organized, composed, and efficient during high-volume service. Professional appearance and demeanor in a guest-facing environment. Physical stamina to remain on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
