- Part-time The historic Lafayette Club in Minnetonka Beach, MN is looking to hire for a Lead Server/MOD position.
Consideration will be given to applicants that possess a minimum of 5 years of hospitality industry experience, a steady work history, and a proven track record of success in leadership. Experience in a country club or hotel/resort setting is beneficial but not required. We are seeking an individual with the desire to help others and guide their team with knowledge, effort, and grace. This is essentially a hybrid position that allows you to have equal time to focus on providing exceptional service to our member community on certain days, while also guiding our Dining Room and Bar staff through fast-paced services on other days. Your Lead Server shifts would be tip-eligible and enhanced by a higher hourly wage. Your Manager On Duty shifts would be compensated with a very competitive hourly rate. Scheduling would consist of a balance of both roles, with an average of 4 total shifts per week. This would be an ideal position for someone looking to balance their careers or supplement their income without dedicating full-time hours. Night, weekend, and holiday availability is required. Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Greet members and guests. Preserve and model excellent, authentic hospitality service to both the internal team and external members/guests, teaching your team how to anticipate member needs and respond proactively and professionally to all their requests and concerns. Maintain a high level of visibility and accessibility to membership and guests during peak times and events. Act as a "situational leader", monitor the quality and pace of service on the floor and assist where needed. Maintain the cleanliness of dining and bar areas daily and at closing. Ensure standards meet health code regulations. Assure that all side-work is accomplished by staff and that all cleaning of equipment and storage areas is completed according to schedule. Assure the correct appearance, cleanliness and safety of dining room and bar lounge areas, equipment, and fixtures; check the maintenance of all equipment in the dining room and reports deficiencies and maintenance concerns. May prepare shift closing reports, including successes and defects from the shift, and properly open/close/secure the clubhouse. Complete regular opening and closing shifts as manager on duty, ensuring the overall safety of the club, assets, and all areas are secure at the end of the business day. Serve as liaison between the front of house and kitchen staff. Enforces established rules, regulations and policies for staff and members. Assist in dining room inventory assessments. In partnership with Dining Room Manager, conduct pre-shift employee meetings. Coordinates any special requests including dietary needs with the Executive Chef Completes other appropriate assignments requested by the Dining Room Manager. Education and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. Minimum five years of experience in service and leadership roles in the hospitality industry is required.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations:

Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations. Maintain effective communication at all department levels and throughout club. Licenses and Special Permits:
TIPS certification preferred Food safety certification required (Serv-Safe or similar) Of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach. Push, pull, or lift, up to 50 pounds. Continuous repetitive motions. Work in a busy and sometimes loud back-of-the-house environment.
