Up to $18/hour + tipsAbout Us Situated right on Chicago's beautiful lakefront, the Burnham Park Yacht Club is a premier, members-only club with a rich history and a vibrant community. We pride ourselves on providing our members and their guests with exceptional dining experiences, stunning harbor views, and top-tier service. We are looking for energetic, detail-oriented, and hardworking Seasonal Bussers / Food Runners to join our dynamic hospitality team for the upcoming season. If you love a fast-paced environment and want to spend your summer working by the water, we want to hear from you! The Role In this hybrid role, you will be the backbone of our front-of-house operations. You'll wear a few different hats—part food runner, part expo, and part busser—ensuring seamless communication between the kitchen and the dining room, and maintaining the pristine standards our members expect.
Key Responsibilities Food Running & Expo:
Deliver hot, fresh dishes to the correct tables promptly; assist the kitchen expo in organizing tickets and garnishing plates before they leave the line.
Bussing & Table Maintenance:
Clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently to keep the dining room flowing smoothly.
Glass & Silverware Polishing:
Maintain our high standards of presentation by polishing glassware, flatware, and plates.
Side Work & General Maintenance:
Keep service stations stocked, assist with opening/closing duties, and ensure the dining and patio areas remain clean, safe, and presentable.
Member Satisfaction:
Provide friendly, polite, and professional service, recognizing regular members and anticipating their needs. What We're Looking For Previous experience in a restaurant, country club, or hospitality setting is a plus, but we are willing to train the right attitude! Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods. A strong sense of urgency and excellent teamwork skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays (peak times for the club). A professional appearance and demeanor suitable for a private club environment.
