Job Description
Wine Server / Wine-Focused Service Professional Golden Hour (South Austin) Golden Hour is an ingredient-driven cafe, natural wine bar, and bottle shop in South Austin. By day, we are a specialty cafe, and by night, a We're looking for an experienced wine professional (1-2 years in wine service) who wants to grow with a small, driven team. This role is ideal for someone proactive, curious, team-oriented, and excited to work in an intimate, counter-service environment with fine dining-level quality, ingredients, and operating standards. You don't need to know everything, but you must be willing to learn, problem-solve, and ask for help when needed. What We're Looking For 1-2 years of experience in a restaurant or wine service with beginner-level wine knowledge Strong work ethic, integrity, and clear communication Ability to work independently and as part of a small, close-knit team Genuine hospitality and comfort, engaging with guests Interest in natural wine and desire to keep learning daily Ability to recall inventory, make recommendations, and actively sell wine/retail products Attention to detail, urgency, and pride in clean, organized work Ability to complete tasks fully including setup and cleanup Punctual, honest, and accountable Team Expectations We are a small team everyone does everything. You may be pouring wine one moment and washing dishes or cleaning the restroom the next. If you thrive in a collaborative environment and take ownership of your space and standards, you'll fit right in. Responsibilities Guide guests through wine, food, and retail selections Answer beginner-level questions about wine, coffee, and menu items Maintain clean, organized service and bar areas Support teammates and uphold service standards Assist with opening/closing duties and daily prep Operate Toast POS and maintain accurate tabs/retail sales Bonus Experience (Not Required) Specialty coffee or barista experience Basic espresso knowledge and dialing in Retail or bottle shop sales Natural wine familiarity Pay $12/hr + tips
