As a Server, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction while efficiently managing orders and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Responsibilities Greet and seat guests promptly, providing menus and answering any initial questions. Take accurate food and drink orders using the restaurant's point-of-sale system, such as OpenTable. Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely manner, ensuring presentation meets restaurant standards. Upsell menu items and specials to enhance the dining experience and increase sales. Maintain knowledge of menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods, to assist guests effectively. Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, addressing any concerns or requests promptly. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of orders and adherence to food safety standards. Handle cash and credit transactions accurately, utilizing basic math skills for billing purposes. Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including resetting tables for new guests. Manage time efficiently during busy periods to ensure all guests receive prompt service. Requirements Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory. Strong guest service skills with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for patrons. Basic math skills for handling transactions and order accuracy. Familiarity with restaurant management software like OpenTable is a plus. Ability to upsell menu items effectively to enhance guest experiences. Knowledge of food safety practices is essential for maintaining health standards. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during peak hours.
