Job Description
Overview Join our vibrant team as a Server/Cashier and become the heart of a lively, fast-paced food service environment! In this role, you'll deliver exceptional customer experiences by providing friendly, efficient service while managing food and beverage orders with precision. Whether taking orders at the counter or handling transactions at the register, you'll play a key part in creating a welcoming atmosphere that keeps guests coming back. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in food preparation, customer service, and sales within a dynamic restaurant or café setting. Duties Greet customers warmly and take their food and beverage orders accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS. Handle cash, credit card, and digital payments efficiently, ensuring accurate cash handling and transaction processing. Assist in food preparation tasks when needed, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards to ensure food safety. Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales through effective suggestive selling techniques. Serve food and beverages promptly, buss tables, and ensure the dining area remains clean and inviting. Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and dietary options to answer customer questions confidently. Follow all sanitation, food handling, and safety protocols to uphold health standards within the restaurant or café environment. Qualifications Previous experience in food service, quick service restaurants, or retail environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key! Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and retail math for upselling opportunities. Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude and excellent communication abilities. Ability to manage time effectively during busy periods while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus; training will be provided if needed. Familiarity with food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques. Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant or café setting is highly desirable; kitchen experience or culinary background is a bonus!
