Job Description

About the Role The Blackburn Inn and Conference Center, a property managed by Guests, Inc., a full service hotel management company since 1989, is looking for friendly, professional Banquet Servers to join our on-call team. You'll play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for weddings, corporate events, private celebrations, and more. This is an on-call position with shifts assigned based on our event calendar — ideal for candidates who want flexible scheduling with consistent work throughout the year.
Compensation Starting pay:
$16.00/hour + service charges Service charge distributions vary by event type; details provided at time of hire Schedule This is an on-call position . Shifts are scheduled based on event bookings and your stated availability. We host events on weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Advance notice is provided whenever possible, and we do our best to work with your schedule. Responsibilities Set up banquet rooms according to event diagrams and service standards, including linen, flatware, glassware, and centerpieces Greet and assist guests warmly, maintaining a professional and attentive presence throughout the event Serve food and beverages in a timely, accurate manner following proper service etiquette (French, buffet, plated, family-style, etc.) Anticipate guest needs — refilling water and beverages, clearing plates, and responding promptly to requests Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines Break down and reset event spaces after service, returning equipment and supplies to proper storage Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, event coordinators, and fellow servers to ensure seamless execution Uphold Blackburn Conference Center's standards for hospitality, appearance, and professionalism at all times Qualifications Prior banquet, catering, or restaurant serving experience preferred Ability to stand and be on your feet for the duration of a shift (typically 4-8 hours) Ability to carry trays and lift up to 30 lbs Professional appearance and demeanor Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player Must be available for evening and weekend shifts Food handler certification (or willingness to obtain prior to first shift) Must be 18 or older to serve alcohol where applicable Why Blackburn?
