POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Host, you are the first and last impression of our restaurant. You set the tone for every guest's visit through a warm welcome, efficient seating management, and professional communication. Your poise, organization, and hospitality skills are essential to delivering a seamless dining experience from the moment guests arrive.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Greet all guests warmly and promptly upon arrival with a friendly and professional demeanor Manage the waitlist and reservation system; quote accurate wait times and communicate updates to waiting guests Seat guests according to server rotation and floor capacity, considering table preferences and special needs Maintain thorough knowledge of the floor layout, table numbers, and seating capacity Manage the flow of the dining room in coordination with servers, managers, and kitchen staff Monitor dining room activity to anticipate table availability and manage wait times effectively Keep the host stand, entrance area, and lobby clean, organized, and welcoming at all times Assist with special requests, large party arrangements, and VIP reservations Handle guest feedback or complaints with empathy and escalate to management when appropriate Assist servers and bussers during high-volume periods as needed Complete opening and closing duties assigned to the host station

QUALIFICATIONS

Prior host, customer service, or front-of-house restaurant experience preferred Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational ability with the capacity to multitask in a busy environment Familiarity with reservation management systems (OpenTable, Resy, or similar) a plus Positive, calm, and solution-oriented approach — especially during high-pressure moments Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the full shift Occasional lifting of menus, supplies, or equipment up to 20 lbs Must be able to work comfortably in a loud, high-traffic environment
