Hot Stamping Process Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

Sets up, programs, optimizes, and monitors all stamping cells. Develop training tools for Transfer Technician, Hot Stamp Technicians and Hot Stamp Technician Sr. Trains all Hot Stamp Sr. Techs.

JOB TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following job/task functions have been identified as the core functions of this position. However, the supervisor or manager may assign additional duties associated with this position.

• Set up and program new jobs on initial run at an expert level.
• Understands and coordinates programming and optimizes motion profiles at an expert level.
• Strives to improve performance and productivity of the entire process.
• Troubleshoots equipment failures and problems, maintains production flow.
• Performs adjustments to processes and equipment to produce a product that meets company standards and customer requirements.
• Assists and instructs Hot Stamp Technician Sr. or other workers in machine setup and operation.
• Performs routine and preventative maintenance throughput the automated cell utilizing a variety and hand tools.
• Responsible for throughput, quality, and raw materials consumed at the hot stamping cell, strives to improve performance and productivity of the entire process.
• Establish training process for Transfer Technician, Hot Stamp Technician and Hot Stamp Technician Sr.
• Trains all Hot Stamp Technician Sr. on established training processes.
• Maintains oven boards at all hot stamping lines and works with maintenance to resolve issues on down ovens.
• Attends all AOS level 2 meetings to provide solutions to process related issues.
• Identifies ways to improve Stamping processes and works with Operations Manager to implement improvements.
• Follows written instructions to determine production requirements and part specifications as displayed on scheduling boards and work standard sheets. Secondary sources of information include, but are not limited to, oral instructions from Managers and/or other employees.
• Notifies Manager when specifications are not being met and adjusts processes, as necessary.
• Monitors press for proper operation, reports, and repairs malfunctions. Communicates with the Manager and maintenance, as necessary.
• Performs routine and preventative maintenance throughout the automated cell utilizing a variety of hand tools.
• Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.)
• Able and willing to work any shift assigned, weekends and overtime.
• Regular and predictable attendance required.
• Assumes other duties as directed by Supervisor.

• Ability to operate and improve productivity of hot stamping cells.
• Ability to complete die / tooling changes at hot stamping production cells.
• Ability to do PLC Programming.
• Ability to maintain tooling.
• Ability to obtain company hi-lo and crane licenses.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education and/or

Experience:

High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
