  • Beta Chapter University of Missouri | Columbia, MO About the Role Alpha Gamma Sigma is seeking a responsible, organized, and professional individual to serve as fraternity House Director for its Beta Chapter at the University of Missouri, Columbia.
This role plays a vital part in supporting a safe, well-managed, positive residential environment for undergraduate members while helping foster leadership, accountability, and community within the chapter. The House Director serves as a trusted representative of the chapter, maintaining consistent on-site presence, balancing residential operations, hospitality, and leadership support. The position is ideally structured as a full-time role , with flexibility to accommodate part-time arrangements for qualified candidates based on availability and fit. Key Responsibilities Residential Operations & Facility Management Maintain a clean, organized, and functional chapter house environment. Oversee inventory, purchasing, and coordination of household supplies. Track and manage operational expenses including food, household supplies, and day-to-day miscellaneous needs. Coordinate with cleaning staff, kitchen staff, and service providers to ensure consistent operations. Communicate effectively with student leadership, alumni advisors, service providers, and other stakeholders to support smooth house operations. Food Service & Hospitality Oversee daily continental-style breakfast and maintain a stocked snack kitchen . Support planning and execution of chapter-hosted events including alumni weekends, parent events, and philanthropic functions. Serve as a welcoming presence for guests, alumni, and visitors. Leadership Presence & Resident Support Serve as a professional representative of the chapter, maintaining a welcoming, structured, and well-managed residential environment. Help foster a respectful, accountable, and positive living environment. Provide light-touch guidance and support to student leadership as needed. Act as a steady "hand on the rudder," supporting the chapter's ability to self-govern while reinforcing expectations. Safety & Risk Awareness Maintain awareness of house activity to support resident safety and well-being. Identify and respond to concerns related to facility, behavior, or safety. Communicate appropriately with chapter leadership and alumni advisors when issues arise. Exercise sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive or internal matters. Time Commitment & Structure This role is structured as a full-time, live-in position , with flexibility for daytime hours depending on the candidate. The House Director resides on-site and maintains a consistent presence during key periods when students are in residence , including evening and overnight hours, typically beginning in the late afternoon/early evening. Additional availability is expected during events, weekends, and other high-activity periods throughout the academic year. Active responsibilities are concentrated during the academic year. Scheduled school breaks and summer periods are generally considered off-duty, unless otherwise coordinated. The House Director may continue to reside in the provided on-site apartment during academic breaks and summer months; however, residency during these periods is optional, provided the property is secured and responsibilities are met. For highly qualified candidates, a modified or part-time structure may be considered, provided that core responsibilities and presence expectations can be met.

Graduate students (MBA, MPA, Higher Education, Counseling, etc.) who can meet the time and presence expectations of the position Alumni interested in staying engaged and contributing to the ongoing success of the chapter Retired or current educators, coaches, or professionals experienced working with young adults Individuals with backgrounds in hospitality, property management, or operations Qualifications Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work effectively with college-aged students while maintaining appropriate boundaries Experience in operations, leadership, or residential environments preferred but not required Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
