  • Full-time Summary:
    The House Lead is responsible for supporting the Assistant/Director of Residential Services as liaison to DSP's to confirm all aspects of the residential house are maintained. The House Lead will work with DSPs in residential services to ensure quality supports are provided to each person served.
  • This position requires occasional evening, overnight, and weekend hours.
SCDDB provides:
Paid training for CPR/1st Aid Certification, Medication Administration, Positive Behavior Support Training, and Class E driver's license. Great work environment. Excellent pay. Vacation and Sick accrual begins immediately.
Qualifications:
One to three years of related experience required.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class E Driver's License.
  • Ability to pass and maintain required training such as CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, and Positive Behavioral Support Training.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty and responsibility.
  • Exceptional teamwork and problem-solving ability.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities :
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks. Ability to maintain confidential records. Ability to be flexible, have on-call responsibilities, and fill in for shifts as needed. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support individual choice, understanding, and learning new skills.
  • Understand, follow-through, and document support plans, goals, activities, progress, etc.
  • Support person served with daily living skills and individual support needs.
  • Facilitate activities that provide person served with social capital and connections to the community.
  • Maintain administrative hours and DSP hours (typically 8 hours admin and 32 DSP hours/weekly) Engage in respectful communication.
  • Use person-first or preferred language.
  • Maintain confidentiality, privacy, and integrity.
  • Talk with person served and include them in all aspects of their lives. Encourage healthy behaviors (both physical and mental)
  • Understand and follow supports for optimal health.
  • Administer medications accurately and reliably.
  • Ensure that person served is free from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
  • Complete necessary reporting and documentation. Provide safeguards and appropriate leadership skills in challenging situations.
  • Use positive behavioral techniques to avoid challenging situations and promote respect and dignity.
  • Be a safe and conscientious driver.
  • Know the proper techniques and be able to respond to emergencies such as accidents, fires, tornados, hospitalizations, or other situations. Representing SCDDB in a positive manner

Key Responsibilities Maintain and update monthly documentation in alignment with agency and compliance standards Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members, including timely updates about person served ongoing medical needs Implement and oversee training programs for new hires and continuous staff development Coordinate and track person served schedules, appointments, and all aspects of person served daily living while ensuring proper follow-up and documentation Assist in writing and reviewing support strategies, daily notes, progress logs, and goal tracking documentation Manage scheduling logistics for clients between residential and day programs, ensuring continuity of care Cross-train at other ISL (Individualized Supported Living) sites to expand service flexibility and promote comprehensive support Engage with person served using empathetic, clear, and respectful communication Support autonomy by encouraging individual choice in all areas of daily life Help person served learn and understand new skills that increase independence and quality of life Understand, follow through on, and document individual support plans, goals, progress, and activities accurately and consistently Provide support with daily living skills and individual support needs, including hygiene, routines, and basic life tasks Facilitate activities that foster social capital and connection to the community, helping person served build relationships and find meaningful opportunities for participation Communicate with the supervisor as needed for scheduling adjustments, updates, and coverage coordination Home Environment & Health and Safety Ensure a

Conduct Routine Safety Checks:
Monitor living areas for safety hazards, ensure equipment is maintained, and promptly address maintenance needs.
Implement Health and Safety Standards:
Enforce infection control practices, hygiene protocols, and emergency preparedness to align with regulatory requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with residential team for person served scheduling/transporting/ attending and documentation of medical appointments.
  • Communicate with staff regarding ongoing medical needs, monthly medicine deliveries and ordering PRN medications, as necessary.
  • Train staff in assigned homes and cross train for other homes.
  • Track documentation in Therap.
  • In-home training.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
Residential House Lead will work in a changing environment that adjusts to the needs of the person served in program services. The environment may be fast paced with interruptions, distractions, and deadlines. A House Lead must be flexible and able to adjust to changing needs or activities. Depending on person served needs, the work can be physically demanding. This includes transferring or supporting people with mobility needs, lifting, or moving items up to 50 lbs., walking or standing for extended periods of time, or providing support through CPR/First Aid, behavioral support, and other interventions.
