AM Job Overview:
Midwest Staffing Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated House Mechanic to join our team. This critical role involves maintaining, repairing, and optimizing various types of industrial machinery and equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations within the facility. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Key Responsibilities:
Perform Routine and Preventive Maintenance:
Conduct regular inspections, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment to identify potential issues before they result in equipment failure.Troubleshooting and Repairs:
Diagnose and resolve mechanical problems promptly and efficiently, including replacing worn parts, repairing malfunctions, and adjusting settings to optimize equipment performance.Installation and Alignment:
Install, align, and balance new equipment or machinery as required, ensuring proper fit and function within the production process. Collaborate withProduction Teams:
Work closely with production personnel to understand equipment usage and process requirements, ensuring that all maintenance interventions are well-timed and effective.Welding and Fabrication:
Perform welding and fabrication tasks, including cutting, brazing, and soldering, using SMAW and GMAW processes for carbon steel and SMAW for stainless steel, to repair or create necessary components.Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and to facilitate continuous improvement efforts.Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, participate in safety training, and contribute to a culture of safety awareness within the workplace.Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
A 2-year technical degree in Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Design, Machinist & Toolmaker, or a related field; OR Completion of a state-approved millwright apprenticeship with a minimum of 2 years of full-time industrial millwright experience; OR A high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 consecutive years of full-time industrial millwright experience.Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in mechanical maintenance, including the use of tools and equipment required for diagnostics, repairs, and installations. Skilled in welding and fabrication techniques, particularly SMAW and GMAW processes. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with production teams and other departments.Testing and Compliance:
Must pass a millwright welding and basic skills test. Must successfully pass a Safety Screen evaluating the ability to safely execute job duties.Additional Information:
