Duties of Housekeeping Aides:

Clean residents' rooms, surgical areas, offices, and waiting areas using cleaning chemicals and disinfectants Clean and sanitize floors, equipment, and furniture according to infection-control policies Sweep, mop, and buff floors as needed Operate various types of cleaning equipment Handle and dispose of waste using standard procedures Clean mattresses and beds according to established procedures Collect laundry from residents' areas and place it in designated locations Collect, sort, wash, and dry residents' laundry Fold, stack, and distribute clean linens, personal laundry, and hospital gowns. Assist in keeping the laundry department neat, clean, and orderly Label clothing and personal resident items Maintain all cleaning equipment and supplies according to prescribed standards Monitor inventory of supplies such as paper towels, soap, toilet paper Qualifications for

Housekeeping:

Ability to understand and follow procedures, work assignments, instructions, warnings, and labels Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English Adequate strength and endurance to meet the strenuous physical demands of such responsibilities as loading and unloading washers and dryers; coordination necessary to fold clothing items and linen Color vision to ascertain stains and separate colored garments from white Housekeeping Aides may start as early as
