Position Summary The Housekeeping Lead is a pivotal leadership role responsible for assisting the Housekeeping Manager and Supervisor in maintaining the highest quality standards for our award-winning hotel. This role ensures property and room cleanliness are kept at peak levels while fostering a culture of superior service. You will share responsibility for executing management directives and operational policies, ensuring every guest enjoys an exceptional experience. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Team Leadership & Culture Lead by example, demonstrating positive morale and upholding the Company Mission Statement and Core Values in every interaction with guests and staff. Share responsibility for training, observing, and monitoring team performance. Provide real-time coaching to ensure safe work habits and operational efficiency. Assist in holding the team accountable to established cleanliness and safety standards. Safeguard sensitive information regarding team members and internal supervisory matters with the highest level of professional integrity. Operational Oversight Oversee and run daily department operations in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager or Supervisor. This includes key distribution, work assignments, and addressing staff needs as they arise. Conduct thorough inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and hotel grounds for cleanliness, appearance, and safety. Maintain seamless communication with other hotel departments to ensure guest needs and maintenance requirements are met promptly. Assist in developing and implementing new policies and procedures to improve department and hotel operations. Guest Experience & Facilities Ensure high standards of guest satisfaction at every touchpoint of their stay. Communicate guest comments and feedback to housekeeping management to drive continuous service improvements. Assist in overseeing the physical setup of meeting rooms, functions, and special events, participating as necessary to ensure success. Immediately report maintenance needs, damaged products, or service issues to the appropriate management to expedite resolution. Logistics & Versatility Maintain the ability to shift and pivot priorities quickly, stepping into frontline roles (Room Attendant, Laundry Attendant, or Houseperson) as needed to support the operation. Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with hotel team members, department heads, vendors, and colleagues across Thomas E. Strauss, Inc. business units. Follow all required hotel procedures for Lost and Found and other standard operating protocols. Minimum Qualifications Experience & Education Minimum of one (1) year of leadership or supervisory experience, preferably within the hospitality or service industry. Must be fluent in English (written and verbal); bilingual skills in Spanish are a significant advantage. Proficient in basic computer operations and comfortable learning new property management or housekeeping software. Skills & Competencies Exceptional "people skills" with the ability to interact professionally with guests, frontline employees, and all levels of management. Ability to effectively deliver and follow complex directions, ensuring clear communication across the team. Proven ability to problem-solve, prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, and make sound decisions under pressure. An uncompromising eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization. A proactive mindset with the drive to take ownership of tasks and lead the team toward successful completion of daily goals. Physical & Schedule Requirements Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the needs of the hotel. Maintains a polished, professional appearance and a friendly, approachable demeanor at all times. Physical Demands and Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be regularly required to perform physical activity that includes moving about the work area, standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching with hands and arms, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing and smelling. The team members will be frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. He or she is required to have the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. The team member will be required to lift, push, pull, lower and/or move up to 10 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
