Housing Specialist

Job Overview The Housing Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting individuals and families in securing safe and affordable housing. This position involves working closely with clients to assess their housing needs, provide guidance on available resources, and facilitate the application/leasing and recertification process for various housing programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of housing regulations and a passion for helping others navigate the complexities of housing assistance. Duties Conduct assessments to determine clients' housing needs and eligibility for various programs, including Section 8 and LIHTC. Conduct lease ups, recertifications, and hold Section 8 briefings. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and ensure compliance in all interactions. Utilize property management software Yardi to manage client information. Skills Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients. Organizational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
