Job Description

O2 Employment Services is working with a local non-profit organization to find their next Housing Transition Navigator. This position is based in Eureka, CA. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability while providing compassionate, trauma-informed support and housing navigation services.
Housing Transition Navigator Compensation:
$22.00 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience Full-time position Dental, vision, medical, life insurance, and 401(k) benefits available Opportunity to make a direct impact within the local community
Housing Transition Navigator Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required Associate degree in Human Services, Social Work, or related field preferred Minimum of 1 year of experience in housing navigation, case management, or related field preferred Familiarity with homelessness services, housing resources, HUD, Section 8, or community support programs preferred Strong organizational and documentation skills Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities Ability to work effectively with diverse populations in challenging situations Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation required Must maintain a clean DMV record and be insurable through company auto insurance provider
Housing Transition Navigator Responsibilities:
Conduct housing readiness assessments and assist clients with individualized housing support plans Build rapport with clients using trauma-informed and culturally sensitive care approaches Assist clients with obtaining required documentation including identification, Social Security cards, and income verification Support clients with housing applications, HUD and Section 8 applications, and housing voucher programs Coordinate housing appointments, tours, and follow-up support for clients Educate clients on tenant rights, budgeting, and landlord communication Collaborate with ECM Case Managers, housing authorities, legal aid organizations, and community partners Maintain organized client files and accurate documentation Track housing progress, barriers, referrals, and outcomes Participate in meetings and coordinate care with internal and external stakeholders Other duties as assigned
Housing Transition Navigator Work Environment:
Combination of office and community-based work settings Frequent interaction with individuals experiencing homelessness, housing instability, mental health challenges, or substance use disorders Exposure to emotionally charged or high-stress situations may occur Regular communication with community agencies, housing providers, and support organizations Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
