HR Generalist Location:
Napoleon, Ohio Pay Rate:
$27/HR Position Summary This role supports a newly launched manufacturing facility focused on final assembly operations for automotive products. The position leads and supports a wide range of human resources functions for hourly employees in a fast-paced, unionized manufacturing environment. Job Duties & Responsibilities Lead talent acquisition and talent management activities for hourly personnel, including temporary services, direct hires, and internal talent movement. Manage pre-employment, onboarding, orientation, transfer, exit, and assignment change processes. Partner with supervisors to maintain and update HR systems throughout the employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, and organizational changes. Generate HR analytics, reports, and metrics using HRIS platforms. Maintain employee personnel files and bulletin board compliance materials. Support employee engagement initiatives to promote an engaged and empowered workforce. Respond to daily HR inquiries and employee requests. Assist with workplace investigations and administer corrective action when necessary. Recommend and support improvements to HR policies, procedures, and departmental efficiency. Support union job postings and job bidding processes, including candidate evaluations and communication of results to union leadership, employees, and management. Administer HR programs and policies including FMLA, disability, tuition reimbursement, safety, and workplace conduct. Manage and complete hourly payroll and attendance processes. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Skills Working knowledge of employment and labor laws, including FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, EEOC, ADEA, NLRA, ERISA, OSHA, and FLSA. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and team-building abilities, with proven conflict resolution skills. Ability to build credibility and trust with employees, supervisors, and leadership. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage high volumes of data and multitask effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with SAP or other HRIS platforms preferred. Experience Requirements Minimum of 3-5 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment. Education Requirements Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
