293428707 Job Description Build Something That Matters Clallam County Fire District #3 serves the community in critical moments. This newly established HR Manager role provides a unique opportunity to shape the people function of an organization built on service, trust, and teamwork. This role goes beyond traditional HR. You'll establish structure, ensure compliance, and help build a cohesive, connected culture across firefighters, leadership, Commissioners, and three unions. What You'll Do Build and lead the District's HR function from the ground up Ensure compliance with Washington State employment laws Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, the Fire Chief and Commissioners Foster strong relationships across three unions and administration Create clear HR policies, processes, and communications Establish HR as a trusted, approachable resource What Success Looks Like Employees confidently turn to HR Leadership has a reliable partner Union relationships are collaborative HR practices are consistent and compliant The organization operates as a unified team

What You Bring Required:

5+ years HR experience with strong operational knowledge Knowledge of Washington State employment laws Ability to build trust and navigate sensitive situations Strong communication and relationship skills

Preferred:

Public sector or fire service experience Union experience HR certification (SHRM or HRCI) How to

The HR Manager role reports directly to the Fire Chief and is classified as exempt. The salary range for this position is $116,000-$143,000 annually, plus a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; $25,000 life insurance; retirement benefits; paid sick leave; generous vacation and holiday leave; bereavement leave; and professional development opportunities.
