Duties Help As a HR Spec (Military), GS-0201-09, you will: Serve as advisor to commanders on assigned unit human resources (HR) programs. Interpret policy and provide procedural guidance to commanders, supervisors, and staff members. Provide guidance and assistance on unit program(s) for which responsible. Provide training to supervisors on all military human resources issues. Analyze da and subsequent determinions regarding any number of human resources mters th may involve or affect AGRs, drill stus guardsmen, and/or family members. Advise supervisors or managers within unit when actions may affect productivity or mission. Conduct staff s and trains personnel (AGRs), traditional drill stus guardsmen, supervisors, managers, etc.) within the unit in all programs for which responsible. Conduct periodic briefings for staff, commanders, and administrive personnel to promote a full understanding of all aspects of the assigned program(s). Provide commanders, supervisors, and the MPF staff with a variety stistical da reports pertaining to military HR issues to assist in HR management decisions. Accomplish/oversee the accomplishment of technical support work in each of the functional areas within this program area. Incumbent has responsibility/accountability for assigned program accomplishment personally and through subordine full time technicians and/or drill stus guardsmen when assigned.
Career Enhancements:
Plan, direct, control and provide advisory services on all aspects of the Career Enhancement program for both Active Guard Reserve (AGR), unit drill stus guardsmen, full time technicians and potential members. Develop internal policies and procedures governing administrion of the following programs: Officer Performance Report/Enlisted Performance Report (OPR/EPR), and officer, enlisted promotions and enlisted demotions. Monitor monthly reports on performance rers and changes of rers to maintain an accure record. Provide administrive control, management, development and advisory service for military awards and decorions. Review Line of Duty (LOD) determinions for administrive accuracy, track progress and initie incapacition pay requests (if applicable). Manage and provide guidance and technical expertise of various special programs to include Deserving Airman Promotion Program, Reserve Officers Personnel Management Program, Exceptional Promotion Program, and Extensions/Reenlistment Program. Administer the test program, which includes the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT), Defense Language Aptitude Btery Test (DLAB), Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT), and Air Force Classificion Test (AFCT). Monitor the Weight and Body F Management Program to ensure compliance with regulory and legal requirements and conducts staff assistant s.
Customer Service:
Plan, direct, and control all aspects of the Customer Service Program. Manage the Air Force Personnel Records System. Develop procedures and establish policy for building, upding, auditing, and accountability of and disposition of automed and manual records. Monitor the maintenance and security of the Unit Personnel Record Group (UPRG) ensuring content meets regulory requirements and are safeguarded. Manage the Point Credit Accounting and Reporting System (PCARS) program. Is the focal point within the MPF for various entitlement programs (i.e., TRICARE medical/dental, Survivors Benefit Plan, Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), Family Care Program, etc). Provide assistance and informion on active duty benefits for AGR members. Monitor and provide technical guidance to workers performing counseling regarding the Servicemen Group Life Insurance (SGLI) benefits. Responsible for oversight, verificion, authorizion of identificion (ID) cards for all branch service members, retired members, and enrollment of eligible family members in Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS). Administer the Casualty Service Program and serves as technical advisor, and as the Casualty Assistance Representive (CAR). Provide casualty assistance ( locions without established Casualty Service work centers) according to governing directives. Serve as focal point for entire organizion concerning Privacy Act mters, military dress and appearance policy and procedures. Maintain and ensure Records of Emergency Da forms are accomplished.
