Role:
The HSE Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental standards of the organization are consistently met and exceeded. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive HSE programs that align with federal, state, and local regulations. The coordinator will work closely with various departments to identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization. By monitoring compliance and investigating incidents, the HSE Coordinator helps to minimize workplace risks and environmental impact. Ultimately, this role supports the organization's commitment to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental coordination or a similar role. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant federal, state, and local HSE laws. Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with employees and management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification. Experience with ISO 45001 and
ISO 14001
management systems. Familiarity with environmental permitting and compliance requirements. Proficiency in HSE software and data management tools. Previous experience working in the construction, manufacturing, or energy sectors.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements. Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken. Coordinate and deliver HSE training programs to employees at all levels to promote awareness and safe work practices. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures. Maintain accurate records of HSE activities, prepare reports for management, and ensure timely communication of safety information. Collaborate with management and employees to foster a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement in HSE performance. Monitor environmental compliance and support initiatives to reduce the organization's environmental footprint.

Communication skills are essential for delivering training sessions, writing clear reports, and fostering collaboration across departments. Organizational skills help manage multiple compliance tasks, documentation, and follow-up activities efficiently. Technical knowledge of regulatory standards and environmental practices guides the development and implementation of policies that ensure legal compliance and promote sustainability. Additionally, problem-solving skills are critical when investigating incidents and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
