Human Health and Environmental Risk Assessment Data Analyst

The Human Health and Environmental Risk Assessment Data Analyst supports the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and reports to the Director of Federal Services. This position is 100% on-site. Street Legal is currently seeking a Human Health and Environmental Risk Assessment Data Analyst to join our project in Oak Ridge, TN. The Human Health and Environmental Risk Assessment Data Analyst will do the following: TASK 1: RAIS Data Workflow Advancement (Entry, Sorting, and Outputs) Timothy Poteet will provide data analytics support to streamline and advance the Risk Assessment Information System (RAIS) data workflows, improving data entry, sorting, and output efficiencies for human health and environmental risk assessment applications relevant to radiological and chemical environmental assessments of the Oak Ridge Reservation.

Primary duties include:

working with the

ORNL RAIS

technical lead/project manager to identify priority datasets and workflow bottlenecks; improving data entry processes and templates; developing/implementing improved sorting, structuring, and formatting approaches to support efficient retrieval and reporting; and supporting updates that improve downstream usability of RAIS outputs for risk assessment models and tools. TASK 2: RAIS Data Quality Assurance, Traceability, and Consistency Checks The Contractor will perform and/or enhance quality assurance (QA) calculations and consistency checks for high-value RAIS datasets, supporting traceable and reliable use of chemical and radionuclide toxicity values, physicochemical properties, and related parameters.

Primary duties include:

conducting QA reviews of identified datasets; performing data validation and QA calculations as directed; documenting sources and data lineage/traceability where applicable; identifying data gaps, inconsistencies, or anomalies; and supporting corrective updates and documentation needed to maintain data integrity and readiness for integration with emerging AI-enabled recall and summarization capabilities.

Workflow Improvements:

Updated data entry templates/workflows and associated guidance, plus a summary of workflow improvements implemented and expected benefits.

Optimized Data Outputs:

Improved RAIS datasets and outputs (e.g., reorganized tables, standardized exports), including updated/cleaned datasets with documented changes (change log and/or annotations).

QA & Traceability:

QA check results and issue log (with recommended resolutions) and brief data documentation describing assumptions, sources, and traceability approach (as applicable).

Requirements:

Baccalaureate in engineering (preferred) or related science OR 4 years job-related nuclear experience. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office. Strong communication, verbal, and written skills. Ability to communicate complex technical and regulatory issues. Ability to work independently.
