Sells Hospital, Santa Rosa Health Center, San Simon Health Center, and San Xavier Health Center.Position Summary:
Under limited supervision, performs analytical professional human resources work and carries out responsibilities in one or more functional areas, such as staffing, employee relations, compensation, training, benefits, employment, labor relations, safety, affirmative action and employment equity programs, and personnel research. The work is normally reviewed upon completion to ensure compliance with general organization and department goals, policies and procedures. Major work activities are covered by procedures or guidelines permitting flexibility in selecting methods to utilize and procedures to follow, determination of work priorities, and the planning and coordination of projects.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Gathers, organizes, and analyzes narrative and statistical data, analyzes problems, considers options, formulates strategies, and makes practical recommendations on given projects. Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of a salary administration plan. Meets with department personnel to collect information to determine job duties; analyzes positions by using information obtained in written and/or verbal form; prepares and revises job descriptions for assigned divisions. Performs research and analyzes classifications and compensation data. Makes appropriate class and pay recommendations. Tracks personnel requisitions, ensuring information on requisition is accurate and in accordance with compensation program policies and procedures. Collects and compiles data and information to produce accurate monthly reports. Monitors Leave Donation Program to ensure requests meet Tribal requirements; updates accruals and deducts hours used to maintain accurate leave balances for all employees. Assists departments with general Human Resources issues. Performs audits on Human Resources database and reconciles leave accruals or pay issues on a monthly basis. Assists with employee recognition program and other human resources functions. Performs other job related duties as assigned and contributes to a team effort.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of the Tohono O'odham culture, customs, and traditions. Knowledge of applicable federal, state, tribal laws, regulations and requirements. Knowledge of Tribal compensation and benefits programs; record-keeping systems; recruitment and employment processes; and performance development and evaluation systems. Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs. Skill in providing superior customer service to external and internal customers. Ability to gather, organize, and analyze narrative and statistical data, analyze problems, consider options, formulate strategies, and make practical recommendations. Ability to learn, interpret, and apply procedures, rules, and laws. Ability to learn general and specialized computer applications. Ability to apply principles of human resources practices and state and federal laws pertaining to fair employment practices. Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees and the general public. Ability to maintain privileged confidential information. Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines. Ability to work extended hours and various work schedules.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or closely related field and one year work experience in human resources, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and work experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position.Licenses, Certifications, Special Requirements:
Upon recommendation for hire, a criminal background check is required to determine suitability for hire, including a 39-month Motor Vehicle Record. May require possessing and maintaining a valid driver's license, (no DUIs or major traffic citations within the last three years). If required, must meet the Tohono O'odham Nation tribal employer's insurance requirements to receive a driver's permit to operate program vehicles. Based on the department's needs, incumbents may be required to demonstrate fluency in both the Tohono O'odham Language and English as a condition of employment.Similar remote jobs
