The Human Resources Supervisor is responsible for professional and support staffing of the school system. This is a 12 month, full time position. The position serves as a member of the Central Office Leadership Team.Job Goals:
To plan, coordinate and supervise the operation of the Human Resources Department in such a way as to enhance the morale of school district personnel, promote the overall efficiency of the school system and maximize the educational opportunities and benefits available to each individual staff member.Requirements:
Educational Requirements - A Masters Degree in Human Resources or Business is preferred. Experience Requirements - At least five years of supervisory experience in Human Resources. Knowledge and Skill Requirements Knowledge of school organizational structure. Knowledge of principles of Human Resource Management Excellent oral and written skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to work well with others or independently. Physical Requirements The physical demands described are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of the position. Plans and directs a program for selection and assignment of the best-qualified teachers and personnel. Interviews applicants and makes recommendations to the superintendent for all personnel. Recommends all assignments, transfers, dismissals and promotions. Certifies classifications and salaries to the finance department. Administers provisions of the Education Code as they apply to certificated and non-certificated staff. Organizes a corps of substitute (short and long term) teachers and assigns them to schools as needed. Serves as Chief Negotiator on the Board team during the negotiations process for salary, wages/benefits and working conditions. Supervises and evaluates all staff of the Human Resources Department. Approves recruiting goals, strategies and materials in cooperation with professional staff members concerned. Confers with principals to determine needs for teachers and support staff of various classifications. Cooperates with college and university schools of education and with career guidance offices regarding applicants. Writes and reviews policies related to staff. Ensures, through appropriate staff member, that all teaching, administrative and ancillary staff have all the licenses necessary to perform job. Monitors district benefit program and ensures that benefits and benefit platforms are competitive for employees and retirees. Serves on district and state committees as required to ensure district is in compliance with federal, state and local employment laws. Ensures the staff onboarding process is performed timely and in an efficient manner. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent. Other Qualifications The individual must be able to perform a variety of high level decision making functions with ability to multi-task. Travel out of town may be expected for meetings throughout the year.Position Type:
Full-Time Salary:
