NATIONAL PRACTICE LEADER, BIOMECHANICS
Position Summary MC Consultants is seeking a National Practice Leader for Biomechanics to lead and expand the firm's capabilities in injury causation analysis. This role is intended for a highly experienced expert with strong credentials in biomechanics and human injury tolerance, combined with leadership experience and strategic vision. The National Practice Leader will serve as a senior testifying expert, technical authority, and practice builder, advancing MC's national presence in biomechanical analysis. Core Responsibilities Technical Authority and Lead Expert Role Serve as lead expert on complex injury biomechanics matters nationwide Perform and oversee biomechanical analyses related to human injury, occupant kinematics, and force tolerance Establish standardized methodologies for injury causation analysis across the firm Review technical reports and provide guidance to ensure defensible, consistent conclusions Translate complex biomechanical concepts into clear, understandable findings for clients Reporting, Testimony, and Strategic Consulting Author and review biomechanical expert reports for complex and high exposure cases Provide expert testimony in depositions, mediations, and trial proceedings Serve as a senior advisor to clients on injury mechanism evaluation and case strategy Team Leadership, Strategy, and Collaboration Lead and mentor biomechanics professionals across regions Define and execute growth strategy for the biomechanics practice in collaboration with executive leadership Coordinate with reconstruction, engineering, and other service lines on multidisciplinary cases Support recruiting, training, and career development for biomechanics personnel Contribute to thought leadership, publications, and industry presentations Strengthen and maintain key client relationships Geographic and Travel Scope Nationwide responsibility with moderate, purposeful travel for inspections, testimony, team leadership, and strategic initiatives. Flexible location within the United States. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical or Biomechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline from an accredited University. Professional Engineer license. Proven work experience in both accident reconstruction and biomechanical injury causation. Significant deposition and trial testimony experience as an expert witness. Demonstrated success leading teams, complex investigations, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Exceptional communication skills, leadership presence, and professional judgment. Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. in Biomechanics, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Prior experience leading a practice group or discipline within a forensic or consulting firm. Technical publications, research, or advanced training related to injury biomechanics or crash dynamics.
