RESPONSIBILITIES I. JOB SUMMARY
The role of the Vice President, Human Resources Labor Strategy & Negotiations is to lead the organization in fulfillment of the intent and mission of its founders, Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV. In doing so, the Vice President, Human Resources Labor Strategy & Negotiations leads with the values of its founders and commits to preserving and honoring The Queen's Health Systems' (QHS) unique heritage. As a key member of the QHS executive leadership team, the Vice President, Human Resources Labor Strategy & Negotiations is responsible for directing the Labor Strategy and culture of the organization consistent with its mission and values; developing and achieving corporate goals, objectives, and initiatives; and implementing procedures to adequately safeguard the assets of QHS. Leads a culture of high reliability, building/strengthening networks, engaging in continuous process improvement, maintaining high patient/staff experience, and utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach to achieve quality and superior services through alignment with QHS strategic goals and initiatives. The Vice President, Human Resources Labor Strategy & Negotiations is responsible for the labor and employee relations strategy, building a proactive framework focusing on collective bargaining, contract administration and fostering positive union and/or bargained employee relations. Scope of work includes recruitment/retention; workforce development; training and development; performance improvement, compliance with legal requirements and standards for alignment with organization policies. Other areas of responsibility and organizational wide initiatives and programs may be assigned to the Vice President, Human Resources Labor Strategy & Negotiations.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Law or related field. Master's degree preferred in business, labor, or related field. Juris doctorate highly desirable.
B. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE
No certification and/or licensure requirement.
C. EXPERIENCE
Fifteen (15) years of progressive experience in labor relations, with a strong track record of leading labor negotiations, preferably in healthcare in a comparable size organization. Five (5) years in a senior leadership role. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with state and federal employment laws (including federal and state anti-discrimination laws, federal and state wage and hour laws, and labor laws), and current employee and labor relations practices. Solid understanding of business principles, i.e., strategic and financial planning, budgeting, business planning. Proven leadership skills, i.e., planning, communications, motivation, mentoring, interpersonal skills.
