This position is responsible for developing HR strategies, supporting organizational goals through effective recruitment, managing employee relations, performance management, training and development, benefits administration, and HR compliance with employment law. The VP of Human Resources will play a key role in fostering a positive workplace culture that reflects the credit union's mission, values, and commitment to exceptional member service. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while supporting employees and management across the organization. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee all daily human resources operations for the credit union Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee programs Lead recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts for all departments Provide guidance and support to managers and employees regarding employee relations, performance management, and workplace concerns Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, labor regulations, and internal policies Administer employee benefits, leave programs, and compensation processes Coordinate employee training, leadership development, and compliance-related training programs Support performance evaluation processes and employee development initiatives Maintain accurate employee records and HR reporting while ensuring confidentiality Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development Promote employee engagement and a culture focused on teamwork, integrity, accountability, and membership Assist with payroll coordination, budgeting, and strategic HR planning Support audits and regulatory examinations related to HR documentation and compliance Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably within financial services, banking, or credit unions Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR compliance, and best practices Experience managing employee relations, benefits administration, and performance management Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion Proficiency in ADP payroll systems Skills & Competencies Leadership and relationship management Strong ethics and confidentiality Conflict resolution and problem-solving Organizational and time management skills Attention to detail and regulatory compliance Employee engagement and team development Commitment to exceptional internal and member service Work Environment Full-time position Professional office environment within a credit union setting Standard business hours with occasional extended hours as needed Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on qualification and experience Comprehensive health and dental insurance Paid time off and paid holidays Retirement savings plan with employer contribution Professional development and certification support Employee wellness programs Working Conditions Occasional local travel
