Job Description

​The Mission ​The mission of the People Services Director is to serve as the strategic cornerstone and cultural guardian of our workforce management operations. In this pivotal leadership role, you will lead, analyze, and optimize human resources initiatives, ensuring the flawless execution of workforce strategies built for employee engagement, retention, and organizational success. You will act as the vital bridge between executive business objectives and on-the-ground human resources execution, driving the cultural transformation, labor compliance, and operational efficiencies that deliver an exceptional, thriving environment for our healthcare professionals. ​Scope of Impact ​
Strategic & Operational Excellence:
Direct, improve, and oversee core HR strategies—specifically workforce planning, development, and talent optimization. Partner directly with the executive leadership team to align human resources initiatives with overarching business goals. ​
Labor & Compliance Integrity:
Collaborate directly with union representatives, HR staff, and regulatory bodies to ensure absolute compliance with employment laws, policies, and regulations. Manage collective bargaining agreements and lead union negotiations with rigorous diplomacy. ​
Employee Relations & Culture:
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing expert guidance on performance management, conflict resolution, and employee relations. Lead high-impact initiatives focused on driving employee retention and positive culture transformation. ​
Talent & Resource Leadership:
Direct full-lifecycle recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning to meet organizational staffing needs. Supervise, mentor, and develop HR team members to maximize performance, while effectively managing departmental budgets and HR expenditures. ​Profile of Excellence ​
Healthcare & Labor Expertise:
Deep, specialized knowledge of human resources management within acute care hospital settings and complex union environments. ​
Technical Proficiency:
Mastery of analyzing complex workforce metrics to identify opportunities for operational improvement, managing expenditures, and interpreting labor laws. ​
Organizational Mastery:
Excellent analytical problem-solving skills with a proven knack for supervising HR staff, managing departmental budgets, and driving HR execution under tight organizational timelines. ​
Interpersonal Strengths:
A commanding yet collaborative leadership style backed by the clear, diplomatic verbal and written communication skills necessary to influence senior leadership and manage diverse employee relations. ​

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is required. ​
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a verified track record of managing HR operations and advising senior leadership teams. ​
Industry Experience:
Direct experience in acute care hospital settings and union environments is strictly required. ​
Certifications:
